Global Citizenship is about AWARENESS

We argue, in a polite way about the idea of the "global citizen" at my school. I say argue because we differ on its meaning. I rarely feel a need to debate this issue. I see the label as an indication of an idea of awareness, not a specific ideological goal. I do not think, as some might, that we are preparing students for a world government. I do think we think of positionality and intersectionality are real framework that must be addressed in how you move through the world. We speak of the global citizen as aware and able to make decision based on that awareness.  I think this idea come through in this episode of the Confess podcast.
