I've put the effort into defining my work in a broader community context. Running down the list of possible ways to engage in our modern world can get confusing. Nonetheless, I still try to follow through on the idea of creating meaningful dialogue around urban issues no matter the context I'm dealing with. The academic landscape has shifted over the last five years with the emergence of digital communities linked to twitter. Hashtags like #Twitterstorians allow academic groups to communicate with each other, the impact of virtual communities are powerful and clear. #SaturdaySchool is social justice theme virtual meetup.
